Portugal qualified to Euro 2012 after win over Bosnia and Herzegovina in play-off match. There are two problems that occur when portugal is in Euro 2012 qualification, the suspended coach Carlos Queiroz and Ricardo Carvalho’s early retirement. Euro 2012 is their 7th appearances, and their best record is when Portugal to be runner up in 2004. They seeded in Group B, were drawn with Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. Portugal National Football Team has a nickname A Seleccao and have home ground at Estadio Nacional in Oeiras.

Portugal National Football Team manager is Paulo Jorge Gomes Bento who's born in Lisbon, Portugal at June 20, 1969 (age 42). Bento replaces Carlos Queiroz after a poor start to the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign. Losing five points in Portugal's first two games. Paulo Bento started his career as a defensive midfielder and has won a Portuguese League, a Portuguese Cup, and a Portuguese Supercup with Sporting Lisbon, a Portuguese Cup with Benfica, and a Portuguese Cup with Estrela Amadora. In 2004 he turned to coaching and has won two Portuguese Cups and two Portuguese Supercups with Sporting Lisbon. In 2006, Bento was awarded CNID Breakthrough Coach. In his early time managing Portugal, Bento had conflicts with Ricardo Carvalho and Bosingwa. Both of them finally decided retire from national team. However, Bento can take over the problem and bring Portugal to Poland and Ukraine.

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro born in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal at February 5, 1985 (age 27). Ronaldo got his captain's armband when Portugal was manage by Carlos Queiroz. Ronaldo have a lot of individual award and one of most prestigious is Ballon d'Or in 2008. In club career, Ronaldo has won a Copa del Rey with Real Madrid (his recent club), three English Premier League, a FA Cup, two League Cups, a FA Community Shield, a UEFA Champions League, and a FIFA Club World Cup with Manchester United. Ronaldo has made 87 appearances and 32 goals for his country. With his speed, technique, and the strength of his right leg, Ronaldo deserves to be one player who should watch the Euro 2012 finals.

Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha commonly known as Nani born in Praia, Cape Verde, at November 17, 1986 (age 25). He is Portugal's National Football Team star player and Seleccao’s second-highest scorer during the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign, on five goals. Playing as attacking Midfielder or winger, Nani has won three English Premier League, a Football League Cup, four FA Community Shield, a UEFA Champions League and a FIFA Club World Cup with Manchester United, with Sporting CP he has won a Taca de Portugal. For his country, Nani has made 51 appearances and 12 goals. Though still often viewed as the shadow of Ronaldo, Nani has showed that he is a key player, both in attacking and in defensive situations and will prove it in Euro 2012 finals.

Fabio Alexandre da Silva Coentrao born in Vila do Conde, Portugal, at March 11, 1988 (age 23). With his recent club Real Madrid, Coentrao has become a modern full-back with good in defesive and capable of supporting the attack with his speed and precise passing and crossing. Coentrao joined the Portugals senior football team in 2009 and has made 18 appearances and 1 goal. Because Portugal does not have many good defensive players, Coentrao will be the player who is expected by the country to continue to shine at Euro 2012.
