Although seeded in easiest qualifying group for Euro 2012, Greece started the qualification with dissapointing result, draw 1-1 with Georgia one of the weakest team in the group. After this draw, fortunately Greece can enhance their performance and never lose in 10 qualification game. In Euro 2012 Greece seeded in Group A, were drawn with Russia, Poland and Czech Republic. Euro 2012 is The Greece's national football team 4th appearance. After they can defeat Portugal 1-0 in Euro 2004 final, Greece football team was called as “Pirate Ship”. Greece's home ground is Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus.

Greece National Football Team head coach is Fernando Manuel Fernandes da Costa Santos who's born in Lisbon, Portugal at October 10, 1954 (age 57). Before taking the national team job, Santos well known for his performance to coach Porto that could win a Portuguese Liga, two Portuguese Cups, and two Portuguese SuperCups. With AEK Athens, Santos could win a Greek Cup. And the most phenomenal is he led PAOK to the 2nd position of the Greek Super-League in 2009–2010 after giving shock to all other competitors for the title.

Giorgos Karagounis born in Pyrgos, Greece at March 6, 1977 (age 34). He is part of the Euro 2004 winning team and made well 114 appearances and 8 goals for Greece since started in 1998. Karagounis is Greece’s second-highest capped player and play in midfielder position. In club career, Karagounis has won a Coppa Italia with Internazionale Milan, two Greek Championships and a Greek Cup with Panathinaikos.

Vasilios Torosidis born in Xanthi, Greece, at June 10, 1985 (age 26). In club career, Torosidis has a fascinate perfomance. With his recent club Olympiacos F.C., Torosidis has won four Greek Super League, two Greek Cups, a Greek Super Cup, and chosen to be a Greek Football Player of the Year in 2010. Torosidis is a Greece's right back and has made 42 appearances and 5 goals.

Sotiris Ninis born in Himara, Albania, at April April 3, 1990 (age 21). Play in attacking midfielder or right winger position wheter for the Greek Super League club Olympiacos F.C. and the Greek national football team, Ninis has shown great skills. Ninis is part of the a Super League Greece and a Greek Cup winning team with Panathinaikos and made well 83 appearances and 10 goals for the club since joining in 2006. Ninis started his international senior national team in 2008 with 18 appearances and 2 goals. If Ninis can prove his fitness after tearing his cruciate knee ligament in the win over Israel in September, he can become Greece’s main attacking threat from midfield at Euro 2012.
