Experience as a national team coach to be the main factor that makes the FA office entrusted to the England team manager Roy Hodgson. Roy Hodgson has appeared in a major tournament with the Swiss to the 1994 World Cup. He has extensive contacts with UEFA and FIFA as well as reap the respect and be accepted at any club in the world. This is the first time the FA appointed England manager ever experienced in the international arena.

Harry Redknapp has been touted by many as the favorite for the role since the departure of the Fabio Capello in February, but the FA decided not to contact the Tottenham manager. Roy Hodgson become the manager of the England national team from 14 May 2012 and his first project will be the Euro 2012 tournament this summer in Poland and the Ukraine. He is looking forward to starting the team's preparations. England has only two fixtures before there Euro 2012 opening game aganst France on June 11, having planned friendlies with Norway and Belgium on the May 26 and June 2, respectively.
